These days more and more families are seeking to keep their elderly or adult handicapped loved ones at home for as long as possible and avoid institutional living. This usually means that when a family member has an illness or chronic condition there needs to be someone at home to assist in that person’s care. Where a family member has been the caregiver there often comes a time when they need effective respite care to allow them time off to meet other important personal or family obligations. Where there has been no family caregiver the need comes for a professional caregiver to come in and assist that person with their personal and household needs.
In either of these cases the family wants to be assured that their loved one is getting competent, experienced, compassionate and trustworthy caregiver assistance. And that’s where we come in. Visiting Angels of West Palm Beach has been serving Palm Beach County with quality caregivers at modest rates for over five years.
Visiting Angels prides itself in both its recruiting and screening process for quality caregivers. Our goal is to find the very best of the care giving community. To that end every caregiver we refer to a client has to meet exacting standards and is hand-picked by the Agency’s owner! “If I meet a caregiver and determine that I wouldn’t trust them with my parent’s care, why would I think another family should settle for that caregiver?” says Rose Rush, the Agency owner.

We often work with family members who live out of state and want to ensure that their loved ones are getting quality care. We are devoted to regular, consistent, and clear communication between the care giver and family and agency and family. We do not insert ourselves between family members and caregiver unless asked to do that. This leaves the family to talk and direct the caregiver freely while still having the confidence that the Agency is fully involved and will act when and if required.

Our services begin with an in-home interview with the client and, if possible, client family members. At that meeting we take a full Health Profile on the client to gain as clear and comprehensive a picture as we can of the client’s personality, medical condition, and service needs. We discuss with the client what schedule they want for services (we only take 40 hour/week cases), and the issues important to the client. There is no charge for this visit.
