Companion care and homemaker services that are designed to take over or assist in the need to remain at home safely and with dignity. These services may include fall prevention, medication and fluid reminders, meal preparation, errands, housekeeping, and transportation.
This refers to the ability of any person to grow old in their own home or that of their family. It is the opposite of institutional residential care like a nursing home.
The average Visiting Angels service runs about 1/3 the cost of an Assisted Living Facility and less than 1/4 of what a skilled nursing facility would run.
While medical insurance such as Medicare/Medicaid or HMOs often don’t cover long term care like our services, long term care insurance can be one means of paying for care services. Some families will also consider reverse mortgages to help with financing. Still other families pool their resources among siblings to help pay for care.
We serve most areas in Palm Beach County.
Initial intake (mandatory for services) can often be done on the day you call or by the next day. A caregiver can usually be identified within a day or two after that intake. Actual services can begin immediately after that interview.
Give us a call at 561-832-6838 to discuss your needs and to schedule an intake, if appropriate. We can usually meet with you or your loved one within 24-48 hours. At that no-charge meeting we do a complete Health Profile and set up a schedule for care services. Then we would determine the caregiver with the most relevant skills, personality, and availability and introduce that caregiver to your loved one within a day or two after our meeting. Due to our low rates and high caregiver quality we only take full time (minimum 40 hrs/wk) cases.
